Optional Activities
Day 1: A taxi will take you to the bus stand where you will jump on and relax while taking in the stunning coastal views for the next 3.5 hours. Our chaperone will collect you off the bus and whisk you off to the landing where a speedboat will be waiting for you to take you to the desert island. Settle into you secluded beach front bure while dinner is prepared. Enjoy your first tropical island nights sleep, it will be deep and refreshing.
Day 2: By kayak you’ll discover a deserted island which sits quietly in the teal blue sea while golden sands lap at its shore.
Day 3: You will be taken on a day-long kayak adventure to the sister island with a local guide. Between August and November you may well see whales on the trip over.
Day 4: SUP-ing and snorkeling before relaxing on the beach.
Day 5: Try your hand at coral gardening (optional) in the morning. The afternoon will see you taking the boat and taxi back to the city of Suva where you can collect your packed lunch from our recommended shops before getting on the ferry ready to take in the local hustle and bustle of island transport!
Day 6: After seeing the stunning island of Taveuni from North to South on your journey by boat you will land at around 2pm. Mat will pick you up from the wharf at around 2pm and take you to their incredible Sanctuary. This remote, secluded and unique permaculture sanctuary is set in 8 acres of private land on the edge of the jungle on Fiji’s Garden Island. The sanctuary includes a spring fed waterfall with natural swimming hole and maintained trails throughout.
Day 7: A 9am start takes you to a local tree plantation where the owner himself will take you on a ridge to reef discovery tour. You’ll feed fish learn about the flora and fauna of this unique island and trek in the humid. Bird-filled forests surrounding his house.
Day 8: Lavena, which lies quite literally, at the end of circular road around Taveuni and is home to the Lavena coastal walk and kayak trips. You will spend a ¾ day taking in the stunning coastal views here, think of Jurassic Park! Blue Lagoon 2 was filmed here. You’ll visit tumbling waterfalls before returning by foot along a famous coastal path.
Day 9: Today you can dive or snorkel the fabulous soft coral capital of the world, the Rainbow Reef of you want (optional). It can also be a beach day or sanctuary day depending on your mood.
Day 10: Today you fly to Suva and spend the afternoon either visiting The Museum of Fiji or on the beach at your resort.
Day 11: Today you’ll head to the south coast of Viti Levu and cruise across a passage in a private chartered boat, enjoying spectacular views of the mainland’s mountainous interior and palm-fringed coastline. In the protected waters of the bay our guides provide a brief orientation to the kayaks and equipment you’ll be using before you paddle off in search of fun and adventure. Inside this hidden lagoon, you’re likely to see hundreds of fruit bats clinging to the surrounding trees, as well as a variety of other birdlife. Tide permitting, we will continue to the end of the bay where a hidden mangrove passage will lead us to the ocean and coral reefs on the southern side of the island. The afternoon is spent enjoying our picnic lunch on a beach, snorkeling a fantastic reef with a kaleidoscope of colorful fish and corals, and kayaking the surrounding bay and shoreline. As the day comes to close, you’ll board our chartered boat for the return trip back to the big island of Viti Levu. Keep your eyes peeled as we cross the deep waters of Beqa Passage for the pods of pilot whales and dolphins that can often be seen navigating the same waters.
Day 12: A day of relaxation, snorkeling diving or hiking.
Day 13: Your journey into this famous Valley is more than just a river trip. It is an experience in adventure, culture, people and history. It's the trip that our guests most frequently return from with inspiration and a desire to come back; to have the experience all over again. It's a Fiji you never imagined existed, it's the Fiji you’ll never forget. This kayaking trip takes you deep inside the Highlands, visits a village for a traditional kava ceremony with the chief, you’ll travel the river by kayak, takes you on a short hike to the tallest waterfall in the Province and finishes with an exhilarating ‘punt’ ride through the lower Canyon.

From experience, it is easier for you to pay cash for this part of the journey as it allows some flexibility incase something happens holds you up in Nadi. Its very easy and cheap to get to Suva from Nadi - $FJD20 per person for a 3.5 hour bus journey along the stunning south coast of Viti Levu.
